![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If your running in a WIn Domain you don't need to join it at all. So I've been taking a "work" laptop home so i can accomplish this work and bringing it back to the office everyday. I'm stuck using my personal laptop at home which the screen recently died on. Right now i'm running the Enterprise version of the Windows 10 Technical Preview.Īlso good luck convincing my workplace to provide me with a company laptop to use for my mandatory on call work. ![]() So i am being kind of forced to either re-install Windows 7 that work provides or go to a free open source OS. I also didn't realize that this OS is only supposed to be used in a test/lab environment. Unfortunately the license i was using was actually a license that was provided for me from the MSDNAA which i didn't realize the license key expires after the subscription does. But i was using a personal license of Windows 8.1 because it is what i am used to and my preferred OS now. It's not a personal laptop it's a work desktop. Just a side question, why are you using your personal laptop for work? Why isn't work providing you with a laptop with windows and office? I use windows 8.1 on my work laptop and I'm already used to it. I'm kind of going the other direction as I built a new machine to drop windows 8 onto so I can play some of older windows based Steam games and physical media windows games I have from years gone by. I have never seen that in any other player.Įverything else I use is web app based. Just grab that scrubber and move it, the audio keeps right up with wherever you move that scrubber. I think the feature that has me stuck on Amarok is the immediate scrubber. It has so many glitches but I'm used to it and a lot of the hotkeys. I hear Clementine is a good media player but I haven't really given it more than 20 minutes of play time. I don't know why I'm so stuck on this one music player/manager. I also have kludged Amarok (KDE) into working under xfce. Video editing, I tend to try something new every time I go to edit video, hoping something got better. I tend to install VLC for video playback when I need it. The apps I use most, Google Chrome, pidgin - instant messenger, Xchat IRC client, GIMP photo editing, Steam for games. I use Xbuntu 14.04 as my daily OS at home. ![]()
